The Ray '15

The Ray is a biennial life-time award given in memory of the late Ray Wijewardene, Sri Lanka's foremost inventor, to help a state-recognised inventor to commercialise his or her invention.

Four Lankan inventors, already honoured with Presidential Awards for Innovation in recent years, were shortlisted for the award. Coming from diverse backgrounds, each had designed a practical solution to an everyday need.

Aruna Samarawickrama won the prize for his LiveFlex Prosthetic Leg.
